For instance you'll see some cycling sunglasses in the Northwave range which at first glance appear to be upside down, but they're not. In fact these are a technical design to allow improved ventilation vision where it is most critical to competitive cyclists.
So you can expect a tangible reason for most of the design incorporated into Northwave sunglasses.
Some sunglasses really match the use they are going to be put to and the top of the range Northwave Nerve model does exactly that, being aggressively styled to suit mountain biking. Aerodymanics and air flow have been optimised to stop misting up when you stop and start during performance. The external eyelets are debossed to allow great air movement without turbulence. Also the structure of the frame on the Nerve sunglasses gives both lightness and strength under impact with for example branches. The Northwave Nerve features: adjustable nose piece tabs and supports, elastic support, interchangeable polycarbonate lenses which are off centre.
Next in the range comes the Northwave Relic with a light yet aggressively designed frame which can be used for any outdoor physical activity as well. It gives high protection with a wrap shape, maximum comfort to the eye zone and an adjustable nose pad. Lenses are interchangeable off centre polycarbonate.
Another model is the Northwave Predator with a sporty outlook, which is also very comfortable and adaptable to any mtb activity. These sunglasses have ergnomic tabs and off centre polycarbonate lenses.

For road cyclists the Northwave Horizon is the top model with an exclusive lens and frame design to give a very high level of visibility when you are on a serious ride, for maximum safety. They feature a special frame and top end lens cut to help aero performance, by diverting air away from the glasses. The Northwave has adjustable nose piece tabs and supports (elastic), interchangeable, off centre polycarbonate lenses.
Next the Nortwave Hurricane shows an aerodynamic, sport shape still showing the characteristics that distinguish it as a Northwave model. These also include the adjustable nose pad and the rubber temple tip end as ergonomic designs for stability, together with the off centre polycarbonate lenses.
Thirdly, the Northwave Radium is model for those who wear corrective lenses as well. It has a special design in which most ophthalmic lenses can be mounted on an adapter applied on the frame of the sunglasses. The lens has a wrap around shape to give best protection, together with adjustable nose piece tabs and support, off centre polycarbonate lens.
